It seems flagged comments are deleted without checking to see if it’s really inapporiate. It is sad that someone feels they need to flag something because they just don’t like it or who posted it. It is a problem the flagger has that they have to deal with.
Sojo
I think they read the comments before they delete them. But comments that are flagged by multiple people are more likely to get deleted than comments flagged by one or two people. So a group of people who work together would greatly increase their odds of getting comments deleted. Also, I don’t know if GoComics has the resources / need to track who is doing the flagging so abusing flagging probably not a concern, especially if done from a second account.
No, I don’t really want to be told how to vote. I do have a hard time deciding on some of the things/people. I vote on what I can decide and hope others in general are able to make a more informed decision than me on the other things.
Hi, tribe!
I’m slowly recovering from my cold. At least I could make it through yesterday without a nap, but I wasn’t terribly energetic.
Today, I took my 18 year old son to vote for his very first time. (The rest of us voted by mail.)
I’ll be a bit distracted this evening. You sports nuts have games you watch, well, I’ll be watching the election returns.
Tomorrow, I’m going to help a friend pick up election signs for a mutual friend of ours who is a state representative.
Hi, Luv!
I do like voting by mail. Then if something is on the ballot I hadn’t realized, I have time to do some research before deciding how to vote. Of course, there is the downside of advance voting - sometimes I find out something after I voted but before election day that would have caused me to vote differently. Happened this year with the primary election, so I voted for one guy, and my hubby & son (who rely on me to do the research) voted for the other guy. The race ended in a tie, and was decided by a coin toss. So, my vote really did decide the election! (There is no opponent in the general election.)
At least I think it was the difference between “good” and “better”, so I’m not terribly upset.
Hi, Wolfie!
Thanks, Sojo! I am glad I’m feeling better, too. I was surprised I felt as rotten as I did, because the males in my family who all got ill a few days before me, didn’t get that bad. They were all functional, just congested & coughing. I could function in spurts, but wore out really quick. I’m still not up to norm yet, but better than I was.
Is anyone else having problems with gocomics “unsigning” them frequently? Usually, I can stay signed on until I run my antivirus scan or shut the computer down. I’ve had to sign back on two or three times today already.
Luv - It sounds like you’ve already voted. If not, I always keep voting guides “bookmarked”, and I could look up the candidates & positions for you. I actually do get several people asking me for my recommendations, as they know I research before I vote, and where I stand on various issues.
No, I am reading stuff now. I guess it is a good thing we aren’t supposed to be too political because I have a few IDEAS and it always irritates me when they combine two or more separate issues in one ballot. Okay, I be good now. (grumbles)
Wolfie - I’m sure you could use the rest! I will be tempted to stay up late to follow the election returns, but since I’m supposed to meet my friend at 8am, I will have to go to bed before all of them are in, since I don’t do well on little sleep.
Hi, ♠Lonewolf♠, Rmom & LuvH8
I just wonder when this early voluntary voting will bite someone in the tail–like when the bad news only surfaces the day before the election. Much as many places have found that electronic voting is not the perfect system either.
My mom said the lighter coffees have more caffeine than the darker coffees and I had heard that regular coffee has more caffeine than expresso. I never got around to doing any research though, so I have no idea if it is true.
Rmom, I remembered you like Mountain Dew in the morning. Have you ever tried a Mountain Dew Cake? That might be good for your all night election marathon.
LuvH8 - I think the darker the roast (the more it is heated) the more caffeine is destroyed so what you said should be true. Of course the stronger the brew the more caffeine. A strong dark may have more than weak light?
I thought Mountain Dew had the most caffeine for pop, other than ones like Jolt and energy drinks. I’ll drink Pepsi or Coke, but for the morning, I prefer the citrus taste of Mt. Dew. If I’m still dragging at lunch, then I have a cola.
I know baking is supposed to remove the alcohol, does baking remove caffeine, too? I hadn’t heard of a Mountain Dew cake, but I’d be willing to try it at least once. I try to quit the caffeine (except for chocolate, that’s not enough to affect me) in the afternoon, or else when I do go to bed, I have more trouble getting to sleep.
Rmom - Baking is supposed to remove alcohol but they have since found out it doesn’t remove all of it. Since caffeine breaks down with heat I would guess at least some would be reduced.
We can vote by mail here without needing a reason, but it has to be received by the election office by election day. (Not at a polling place, but the county office.) KS laws might get a little tighter if the Republican wins Secretary of State, because right now, unless one is a first time voter, they don’t have to show any ID to vote.
I just found out I’m going to be on the road again. A computer power cord my hubby ordered for one at work showed up, so he wants someone to bring it to him. Our sons’ college classes conflict, so I’ll do it after I get done picking up signs tomorrow.

Grog - They usually mail tags here.
MontanaLady - The campaign asked us to, I believe he will use them for the next election cycle. (He’s expected to win.) But I picked up some signs for the losers after the primary - they make great targets to practice our shooting.
You’re right about that ♠Lonewolf♠. But it seems as though there are still plenty of people out there who have their heads stuck up their you-know-what. They just don’t crawll out all at once.

Maybe caffeine is like alcohol–a can of beer, a glass of wine, and a shot of spirits all have about the same amount of alcohol.
But I doubt it. Certainly some pop types have more than others. And I doubt tea has anywhere near the caffeine as coffee…
