I was naive enough to think the moon would be blue. But I got to see a full lunar eclipse when I was about 11-12, stayed up to see it with my friend, Cindy. It was spooky sitting on the curb looking up, and when it turned that rusty red it was scary at 4am in the morning. We dashed inside Cindy’s house and peered out the kitchen window at it. It was gorgeous. I had just had some teeth pulled the day before for my braces, 1 incisor, 1 canine and two premolars. Mom thought I was nuts, but I was keenly interested in space and such.
Grog - - - Well, I see I didn’t miss much as the Bears didn’t get any help from the Vikings! What a blow out. Put a fork in Favre. This may be it for his career.
♠Lonewolf♠, the Raiders/Steelers game I was watching has turned into an even bigger blow-out. I can’t say I’m happy about the outcome on that one either.
Little Sister I like once in a blue moon MOON too and a total eclipse of one like Quaby mentioned is awesome!

I think I mentioned I would be in KC to attend a basketball tournament Monday and Tuesday so be kind to each other as usual. I am excited to see Duke play LIVE at the Sprint center! We will also enjoy the other teams. Good test for the Blue Devils. (Name of WWI flying aces they adopted)
Good evening, tribe!
I remember viewing a total solar eclipse 15+ years ago. My hubby has a welding helmet that we could use to look at it directly, which was great, especially to show my two sons who were pre-school age at the time.
I have a friend helping me clean out my dryer vent. The dryer is in the basement. A shop vacuum hooks up to it down there and he has a special tool for a drill to go into the vent from the outside to clean it out. It works good and fast!
Hi, Sojo! - Sounds like a great system! I bought a shop vac several years ago, and they sure come in handy every once in a while. We have a whole house vacuum system, and so did my mom. Shop vacs come in handy to suck stuff back out that get stuck in those systems. I also own two drills - one corded and one cordless. (That’s not counting however many my hubby has.)
I saw this article today. It is about a car that can fly, float, drive on highway or off-road. That would really be great to have! Of course, I don’t happen to have a spare $80,000 to buy one, but I can dream, can’t I?
Hi, Doc, Lil’ Sis & Frankr!
Lil’ Sis - That was the first I’ve heard of it, but could see where it would really come in handy.
Frankr - No foo ball in this house.
I just slipped away to finish reading a very interesting book. “The Twelfth Imam” by Joel Rosenberg. It is the first in a new series by him, it will be hard to wait for the next book to come out.
Rmom - Since everything went so easy he didn’t think the vent was getting clogged and something else was wrong with the dryer. After explaining everything to him he looked inside the shop vac and it was full of lent! Dryer should be fine now. I’ve been here about 25 years now and about half that time ago I started having dryer trouble and I fixed it by cleaning the vent. I had to shake it all out then creating a hugh mess! This time it was quick and simple.
I’ve noticed that seems to be a common problem with dryers. I had to buy a new one not too long ago. At the time, I replaced our flexible duct with a rigid one, per the dryer instruction booklet. I do think it will be less likely to clog up than the flexible type.
Finally I am done. I did the front brakes, pads and rotors. I was pumping up the brakes before going on a test drive and the pedal just sank to the floor. One of the brake lines split. It was rusty as all get out. It’s a 1994 Chrysler with a gazillion miles so it’s not a surprising result, just one I wasn’t counting on!
At least I can watch the game this evening. :^)
Rmom - That’s true. Do to the plumbing, floor joists, air ducts and wires I felt it would be too hard to try to put in rigid vent pipe but maybe I should of tried harder. The external vent was almost blocked by everything else.
Lil’ Sis - I always empty the lint off of the filter after each load, too. We’re talking about between that screen and the place the hot air exits the building. This involves disconnecting the hose from the back of the dryer - not something one does after each load.
♠Lonewolf♠ - When I was a new driver I bought an old car and had the break line split like that while I was driving. I was able to get stopped before having a wreak. It was just before getting on a fast highway.
Lil’ Sis - Thermostats, heating elements, belts, timers, etc. - there’s plenty of stuff that can break on a dryer.
Sojo - If your dryer is in the basement, I can see where that could make a long path to the outdoors. Since I designed our house, I put the laundry room on the 2nd floor (closer to the planned bedrooms) against the north exterior wall (back side of the house).
I clean the filter after every load I dry but after several years what gets through the filter gets stuck on the flexable hose and builds up. I have replaced a bad heating element for a friend but I have a gas dryer so I knew that couldn’t be going out.
Good Evening, Tribeandall♠Lonewolf♠, tonight’s game promises to be very entertaining. For me the late games turned out much better than the early games.
Sorry I missed you Rmom. My customer showed up and picked up their car. It takes two to three hours depending on where you’re replacing the section at. It took me 2 hours because I needed to flare the remaining end that I cut and adapt a bubble flare section in at the rear hose fitting.
Good Night & rest well, Lady!
POP Just wanted you to be sure and have your alarms set for August 17, 2017 for the next total eclipse of the Sun in America. I don’t want to miss it either!!
I have to admit I don’t like something rotten. I like variety - weather, light, etc. and that now seems to be with food as well. I’m sure I could find somethings I don’t like but I’ll try about anything. One thing I tried a long time ago I couldn’t force myself to eat much, but to protect everyone I won’t tell what it was. :-)
I’d like to try chocolate covered crickets or ants (ants without chocolate are good). Now I’d think about what diseases flies might carry. If deep fried first before coated with chocolate I’d try it.
I have a cousin-in-law that grew up in Africa (her dad taught there for a while). At the time of year when ants were flying school would let out so the kids could catch and eat them. The were sweet having a lot of sugar content. In that culture it was just normal. Some ants in the US desert are prized for their sweet taste as well.
I’m quit curious so I’d like to try almost anythiing just to see what it’s like. After having bad food poisoning a few times though I also like to add common sense to the equation.

Wolfie - Good job! I didn’t know how long a task like that would take.
Smiley Rmom about 14 years ago
Sojo - I’m not as familar with gas dryers. My folks had them at the old house, but I’ve never owned one.
Smiley Rmom about 14 years ago
Well, time for me to wrap things up for the night. Good night!
LittleSister18 about 14 years ago
Oh ! I see now Rmom thank you for clearing that up for me.
:-)

Good Night Rmom - Have a good evening and sleep well.
LittleSister18 about 14 years ago
Good night Rmom.
hopeandjoy2 about 14 years ago
Hi Bye RMom Enjoyed all the shopvac, dryer, car repair talk with scattered lint removal from one or the other. *: ) Have a good evening.
Little Sis Thank you for asking…I have had a good day. Just ran a load of clothes and they are drying. My sickly cat is better and I am thankful.
If I have time, I will check in tomorrow before leaving. I don’t have a laptop to take with me.
George Arnold about 14 years ago
Have a good evening and a good time if I don’t get to say hi before then HopeandJoy!

Good Evening, Tribeandall ♠Lonewolf♠, tonight’s game promises to be very entertaining. For me the late games turned out much better than the early games.
COWBOY7 about 14 years ago
Sorry I missed you Rmom. My customer showed up and picked up their car. It takes two to three hours depending on where you’re replacing the section at. It took me 2 hours because I needed to flare the remaining end that I cut and adapt a bubble flare section in at the rear hose fitting. Good Night & rest well, Lady!
COWBOY7 about 14 years ago
Hi, HopeandJoy!
Sojo, you were lucky that you did not have an accident.
COWBOY7 about 14 years ago
Grog, I am really sorry that I missed the Colts/Patriots game. It was exciting by all accounts.
LittleSister18 about 14 years ago
I have the week off from work.
hopeandjoy2 about 14 years ago
POP Just wanted you to be sure and have your alarms set for August 17, 2017 for the next total eclipse of the Sun in America. I don’t want to miss it either!!
POp out
LittleSister18 about 14 years ago
Thats a long time away. :-)
GROG Premium Member about 14 years ago
Sure is. I may not even be among the living then. Heck, we could all be gone tomorrow.
COWBOY7 about 14 years ago
Yeah, isn’t something supposed to happen in 2012? :^)
GROG Premium Member about 14 years ago
Isn’t it suppose to be the end of the world in 2012?
COWBOY7 about 14 years ago
Heheh! Something like that. On the Mayan calendar I think.
GROG Premium Member about 14 years ago
I wouldn’t trust those calendars.
GROG Premium Member about 14 years ago
Now if ther were some truth to it, I’d say break out the KFC, the 3-egg omellettes and everthing else that tastes good.
GROG Premium Member about 14 years ago
That is….according to my taste buds. Chocoate never did taste good to me….Blech!
COWBOY7 about 14 years ago
I’m not big on chocolate, but I’m not big on many sweets either. Chocolate is okay I guess.
COWBOY7 about 14 years ago

I like my cheese cake (not chocolate) peanutbutter cookies & cups and maybe some gourmet cookies I used to get in Montreal. That’s about it.
LittleSister18 about 14 years ago
I want chocolate. I haven’t had any for an entire month.
LittleSister18 about 14 years ago
I also want butter cookies.
GROG Premium Member about 14 years ago
I bet that’s just dripping in cholesterol & sat fats.
LittleSister18 about 14 years ago
But it is Sooooooo Delicious.
COWBOY7 about 14 years ago
Cheesecake is one of my favorites.
Salerno butter cookies are pretty good!
GROG Premium Member about 14 years ago
Almost anything that has a buttery taste is good.
GROG Premium Member about 14 years ago
I exclude green beens and spinache from that. Nothing can make either of them taste good.
GROG Premium Member about 14 years ago
Vick got a pretty good stick there.
George Arnold about 14 years ago
I like almost everything, even things i use to not like. Of course, the things I use to like I enjoy even more now!
GROG Premium Member about 14 years ago
There must be something you don’t like. Sojourner. But I I’m also a pretty picky eater.
GROG Premium Member about 14 years ago
Boy the Cowboys are going to have their hands full when they finally get to play the Eagles (twice).
George Arnold about 14 years ago
I have to admit I don’t like something rotten. I like variety - weather, light, etc. and that now seems to be with food as well. I’m sure I could find somethings I don’t like but I’ll try about anything. One thing I tried a long time ago I couldn’t force myself to eat much, but to protect everyone I won’t tell what it was. :-)
COWBOY7 about 14 years ago
The Bears have the honors next week with the Eagles.
GROG Premium Member about 14 years ago
Chocolate covered flies, Sojourner?
GROG Premium Member about 14 years ago
Yeah, I know, ♠Lonewolf♠. And the NFL has moved it to the late afternoon game.
GROG Premium Member about 14 years ago
I’ll be watching it for sure.
George Arnold about 14 years ago
I’d like to try chocolate covered crickets or ants (ants without chocolate are good). Now I’d think about what diseases flies might carry. If deep fried first before coated with chocolate I’d try it.
GROG Premium Member about 14 years ago
I don’t think much of the Bears chances though. They’ll have to bring their AA game.
COWBOY7 about 14 years ago
You know I’ll be watching it, Grog.
GROG Premium Member about 14 years ago
Don’t wake a sleeping Giant? They’re finally in the lead!!!
GROG Premium Member about 14 years ago
Are you trying to make me sick, Sojourner? If so, it’s working.
COWBOY7 about 14 years ago
Yeah and my fantasy team opponent has E Manning as his QB. :^(
Not looking good for my team!
GROG Premium Member about 14 years ago
Who do you have?
LittleSister18 about 14 years ago
EEEW! Sojo. That sounds
Blechy!George Arnold about 14 years ago
That’s why I won’t mention some things. :-)
GROG Premium Member about 14 years ago
I’m sure even the Duckie One won’t like that even though it’s covered in chocolate.
GROG Premium Member about 14 years ago
You can have them, Sojourner. I won’t try to take them from you.
GROG Premium Member about 14 years ago
That sounds like bird food to me.
COWBOY7 about 14 years ago
During some of my special military training, we had to eat “off the land” which also included various bugs and such.
GROG Premium Member about 14 years ago
Well you certainly can’t be choosy in the military. But from what I’ve heard, eating bugs is no different from eating army chow.
George Arnold about 14 years ago
I’m quit curious so I’d like to try almost anythiing just to see what it’s like. After having bad food poisoning a few times though I also like to add common sense to the equation.
COWBOY7 about 14 years ago
LOL - - Pretty much the same, Grog.
GROG Premium Member about 14 years ago
Well, now that the game’s over, I’m calling it a night.
Gunite, Tribeandall
George Arnold about 14 years ago
Good Night Grog.
LittleSister18 about 14 years ago
Good night Grog.
LittleSister18 about 14 years ago
I know that certain tribal people would eat things like bugs, spiders and whatever else..
LittleSister18 about 14 years ago
I don’t know it just seems icky.
George Arnold about 14 years ago
If you not use to it or it’s not part of your culture that’s just natural.
LittleSister18 about 14 years ago
I’d have to be put in a situation where survival was important for me to even consider something like that.
hopeandjoy2 about 14 years ago
Pop in
On my way through to sleep…My nephew ate a grasshopper RAW for 50 cents once!
I do not like brussel sprouts but will eat 3 if I have to!

LittleSister18 about 14 years ago
