Double-headed Hawk Moth (Coequosa triangularis)? I know little about the leptidoptera.
If it’s a member of the mothia, it’s got the wrong hat.
Just read an article about the spotted lanternfly issue in eastern U.S. Unfortunate situation for all involved…including the insect.
One of the high points in my life was being in the right place at the right time to take a picture of a gray hairstreak on my magenta colored ice plant. So beautiful!
