There is a method of shocking a fruit tree just enough to get it to bloom harder and consequently produce more fruit. Use a piece of wood and hit the trunk. Not enough to scar the bark just enough to shake up the cambium. It slows down growth so energy can be diverted elsewhere. I once used kicking therapy to get a stump of a Brugmansia (Angel’s Trumpet) to sprout….finally. Good therapy for me too.
