Comics Call The Shot(s) On Babe Ruth Day
by The GoComics TeamThe first "Babe Ruth Day" took place on April 27, 1947Â when "the Sultan of Swat" appeared before a crowd of nearly 60,000 at Yankee Stadium to be honored for his contributions to baseball. Ruth, who partied just as hard as he hit 714 home runs during his 22-season career, was in the throes of cancer treatment and would pass away the following year.
