Lasagna Laughs: Comics That Call Out Garfield's Pasta Preference

July is an important month in Garfield lore, as Jim Davis established his cartoon cat's lasagna love on July 15th of 1978. It's kismet, then, that National Lasagna Day falls just weeks later on July 29th. After four decades of chowing down on layered pasta strips, cheese, meat, sauces and other edibles, everybody associates Garf with the dish -- especially cartoonists.

To celebrate National Lasagna Day, we've layered (and baked until the cheese on top turned golden brown) a heap of strips referencing Garfield and his favorite food. Enjoy, and remember to wash it down with some of Garf's own adventures in comfort food.
