The Billy Ireland Cartoon Library and Museum is thousands of comics richer today! According to The Columbus Dispatch, the museum (which is also an archive of The National Cartoonists Society) received 16,000 original Marmaduke comics, as well as additional artwork by creator Brad Anderson.

The beloved strip, created by Anderson in 1954, continues to be a staple in newspapers and in the public eye. Brad passed away in 2015, and the strip continues to be drawn by his son, Paul. Brad had been in contact with the library's curators prior to his death to discuss housing his work there, as he was impressed by the facility. 

The library is currently working on cataloging and digitizing Anderson's work, and there are some rumblings of setting up an exhibit. But never fear — even without a formal exhibit, the public is able to view the strips upon request in the library's reading room.
