Somebody must have had yellow papules of urticaria pigmentosa once in their life or at least an itchy rash. Either in real time or on a test.

I am too, Doc. And those who are too serious aboutspelling and text probably don’t take into account that sometimes the “errors” are deliberate. Oh well, Let’s just enjoy both shows, the comic and the posters…

Doc: Don’t forget the ones who manage to inject politics into every cartoon, no matter how distant and ridiculous the reference may be.

Sometimes, if you poke trolls with a stick, funny stuff comes out. Does it make me a troll to enjoy such sport? (It’s safer to watch others poke trolls.)

And it’s less fun to kvetch about proofreaders with marginal Asperger’s syndrome… Please take it in the spirit it’s offered (though we don’t all - or always - appreciate the subtler puns at first!)

One of the best sets of comments ever (don’t remember what ‘toon it was associated with) was when someone complained about some other poster’s grammar and spelling. Then another poster (4deerinmyyard comes to mind but I may be mistaken) took apart that person’s post and pointed out about thirty cajillion errors in spelling, syntax, grammar, and general lawlessness. I wish I had saved it.

What exactly is “artistic misspelling”? Is it writing a string of wrong letters that, when squeezed together, look like the Mona Lisa?

It’s only one man’s opinion, but I sincerely believe that the largest debt of all is owed to Bill Watterson. I spent almost as many hours of my childhood with my nose in a Calvin and Hobbes book as I did with it pressed against a television screen, and believe me, that’s saying something. Alas, why do I even bother to post comments on an old strip. It seems unlikely that anyone will ever see or even bother to read it anyway.

I saw it – some of us miss the ‘daily’ and check old ones to ‘catch up’ My fav calvin was when dad complains we are becoming a society based on instant gratification and who can’t enjoy the pace of life any longer in panel 1 and 2 and pane three has hobbs looking at a microwave dinner and saying ‘30 seconds? THIRTY SECONDS? Who can wait that long for food!” Makes me chuckle even to this day as I hear people complain about delays. There is more to life than increasing its speed :)
