In 1959 my Dad was in hospital some 45 days before he was able to be moved to a veterans hospital. He had lead poisoning and part of his stomach was removed. The bill was some $750. I read the original text of the Affordable Healthcare Act. It was a good thing and would have reduced the cost of healthcare for the public. Republicans in Congress violently opposed it and butchered the bill merciless, until it hardly resembles the original bill.The Republicans loved it when St. Reagan proposed the almost identical legislation.
