My street is heavily wooded and is next to a creek behind houses on one side. There have been many squirrels who have had near death experiences along that street. Alas, some zigged when they should have zagged. It’s amazing how they will run out into the street, realized they shouldn’t have and either stop right in front of you or having almost reached the other side, turn and get right back into your path. About a half mile away on another street there are phone and electric lines across the street. There are no road kills there as the squirrels have learned to cross on the cables. I can envision a future “Planet of the Squirrels”!
