Psychologically, it actually makes sense. Jane’s mother doesn’t want Jane to turn out like Sabrina, so she makes every effort to make sure that Jane resents Sabrina. Therefore, Jane will never be like Sabrina.

If Jane doesn’t mind helping out, she’s welcome to move into my spare room; it’s one of the farthest spots on the planet away from her mother.

JAD Not to detract from your vast and varied education, but because both my parents had the PHDs in Psychology, I majored in English for its money making and job prospects.I couldn’t help but notice that all psychological labels were allusions to great literature. Why not go to the source. Read the classics. Why do I need Freud to tell me what was written by inspired poets 1500 years before his birth? Cannot Chaucer tell me more of human interactions than a $34.95 textbook? Cannot The Bard’s histories and tragedies get me to feel the human condition better than anything the four network will teach me between detergent commercials? Oprah, have you ever translated a book? And “Dr. Phil”, Even my dear mother would have you thrown the the coldest gulag in Siberia for the babble you peddle as science. You should write for the National Enquirer.
