The cycle continues. Though Jane doesn’t have the callousness nor the venom to be her mother, most of the work will be done by high school. Skyler is still a Tinker, and as a smart Tinker, she will be subjected to experiencing the entirety of Degrassi in 4 years.
As for the reason Sabrina and Jane have diverging personalities and how their mom got to be a famous psychologist? She used her kids as lab rats, using different parenting techniques on them.
She’ll never realize that her mom strives for the children to have something that she never had. If some miracle occurs, nah… never mind.
This unthankful, spoiled brat will grow up to be a crotchety old woman with the same self-centered attitude.
Just as a reminder, teenagers are by their very nature narcissistic, crabby people who are embarrassed to death by their elders and can’t imagine anything good coming from anyone over 29. That has always been the way (I can hear the protests of “Not my generation!” already), and it will always be the way. They do outgrow that part of them.
BTW, sounds to me like jkoskov is one of those “crotchety old” folks about which he/she writes.
Reminds me of something my 20 something son said to his dad: “I’m sorry I am not the adult you imagined for yourself when you were in grade school in the 1950’s.”
Why is it so hard for parents to accept that their children are different people than themselves?

Oh for the love of Pete - for just once can’t she stop taking herself so seriously and cut out the bratty little whiner act?

I find her arguments compelling. And she’s right the Geneva convention does forbid pow s being used in propaganda. But she’s not a pow is she?
