Yes, we needed to give up some of our rights as citizens in order for our government to keep us “safe”. Of course, who was going to keep us safe from our government? I don’t care what anyone says, having a “king” instead of a president was not the answer. “Those who would give up essential liberty to purchase a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety”, as Benjamin Franklin once said, and I think he definitely qualifies as a true American.
