"Huey takes a short but well-deserved vacation, and through quiet meditation, reaches new levels of cosmic understanding."
Huey: "The Cosby Show" really jumped the shark when Raven-Symone showed up.
“Jumping the Shark” is a reference to the 70’s TV show “Happy Days” where the Arthur Fonzarelli character, decked out in his classic leather jacket, water ski jumped over a shark in a pen. The popular reference is that when a show has run out ideas, the writers do something outlandish, like having a character jump a shark.
Thanks, Brad - I never had the slightest idea. I’ve been assuming for years that it must be some political-wonk phrase. And I even saw an episode or two of that show at the time, when my little brother tried to convince me that it was brilliant, so I can feel exactly how apt the saying is. Ahhhh!
