Don’t abuse the telemarketers, just hang up on them. Mild annoyances all around. Abusing them just makes them put you on a list of “good contacts” so that you’ll be constantly even more bombarded by the thing you don’t want — i.e. more telemarketing calls.
And anyway, who answers the phone anymore? Almost nobody Riley’s age will have a landline, much less view a phone as something to talk on.

Just hang up. Often working in a call center is a job of last resort, often employing disabled people who can’t get other work.
