Kinda reminds me of Warner Brothers threatening to sue Groucho Marx for using âCasablancaâ in one of his movies.
Groucho promised to counter sue for trademark infringement of the âBrothersâ name. They were the Marx Brothers, and therefore Warner Brothers had appropriated part of their corporate name to advance their own public image.
The company name being your own name doesnât matter. McDonaldâs keeps suing people named McDonald who want to use their name, even when the defendantsâ business and business name predates the burger chain.
