MRI is Magnetic Resonance Imaging. Unlike X-rays, there is no ionizing radiation – it is the safest 3D scan you can get. But as with any technology, there are drawbacks:1) resolution is lower than a CAT scan – but then a CAT scan comes with 600 times the radiation of a chest xray.2) The scan uses very strong magnetic fields. Metal in your body can be a problem. There have been accidents where loose metal objects in the room were thrown around by the field and injured someone.
mri stands for magnetic resonant imaging. It is a sharper image of an area like say the brain. an x-ray will not pick up lesions on the brain that are associated with Multiple sclerosis. A MRI can.

You’d think they would have upgraded to Y-Ray machines by now.

I give up. What the heck as an MRI? And why must you use acronyms in the comix?
