Just above Lake Superior, I saw a stop sign that somebody had spray painted “eh” next to the text..as in, Stop, eh?

Around here, some STOP signs are understood to mean “Slow down a little bit at least, ok?”

Shouldn’t he be talking to a posted speed limit sign?

(Some years ago the U.S. adopted modified versions of international traffic signs, such as YIELD and NO PASSING, and the rest of the world adopted the American octagonal red STOP. But in much of the world they didn’t even bother translating into the local language, so it always amuses me to see pictures of street scenes around the world with English “STOP”. BTW, I remember when U.S. stop signs were yellow; I think California started the red sign.)

Is a talking sign a sign of the apocalypse?

I’m guessing that it is a posted sign asking to not be removed.
