Only have AC in the car, where my rule is to match the outside temp if between 58 and 80, 58 if older, 80 if hotter (plenty cool when it’s 100+ out). My wife’s is 58 if she’s wearing short sleeves, 80 if in a parka.

Used to have to put covers over them to keep button pushers out. now they have code lockouts.
