Then there’s the yard…
in a special “yard-long” glass…
I’m told a yard of ale is supposed to be about 2 1/2 imperial pints….
ie, 50 oz…
but since the length of the glass varies a bit, so does the volume.
But you have bars that sell half a yard… at 32 oz….
which makes no sense…
and then the rip-off (according to English friends) plastic souvenir yards sold at some events and fairs…
which also hold only up to about 32 oz… a US quart.
Of course, then you have all the beer I can drink…
which, rarely, on a hot, thirsty day might be as much as 12 oz…
but is usually none…
so I don’t know what I’d do with a yard of ale anyway.
Perkycat….
Just wanted to thank you for yesterday’s post!
And sorry…this will be the one that disappoints you.
