I was thinking Tor was a reference to Tor Johnson of Bride of the Monster and Plan 9 fame.

Chrisnp: If it were, and it probably is, maybe it was unintentional otherwise Tor would look more like George “The Animal” Steele(the wrestler) who portrayed actor Tor Johnson in Tim Burton’s ED WOOD biopic. TIM RICKARD YOU LISTENING!?

Digital, speaking as a punster of great renoun, I applaud you, that was masterful, and I have a feeling that Rickard had that very pun in mind when he drew this strip. Excellent!!!
