I’m surprised the name Vulcan, a major Roman god, hasn’t already been used for a solar system body. It was proposed as the name of a hypothetical planet between the Sun and Mercury, but Einstein’s Theory of General Relativity made its existence superfluous in 1915.
Dr. Mel, I know you only said that Pluto was based on Greek myth, but just for the record, Pluto himself was Roman.
