On the nail on PETA, bigg3469–they are indeed “vegan” (note: they actually promoted eating whalemeat in 2001, and still try to support it in ways that make a pretzel seem arrow-straight–the little fact that most whales are between endangered and critically-endangered never registered with them) thugs!
I guess no one in PETA has ever read the satire Erehwon (“Nowhere” backwards). At least I know the summary. Therein we find a fictional society which began by going vegetarian, until one of their own pointed out that plants are living things, too. They ended up self-limited to eating cabbages that had been certified to die a natural death.
Um no, there is no such thing as a vegetarian of any kind that eats fish/seafood and/or chicken/poultry. There are some people who go by the name of Pescetarian or Pollotarian but perhaps should be called Pescivore and Pollovore. Regardless, they are just Omnivores who still eat flesh just not red meat.
As to the PETA-bashing, it would seem that there are a lot of people who don’t bother to do their research and are unable to comprehend satire such as the Whale issue. Or they get it but take every opportunity to protect their own lazy self-interests and insecurities by misrepresenting things that feel threatening (like compassion) to them. If one understood s/he might see things in his/her own life as mistakes. Guilt-avoidance via typical schoolyard antics of degrading others. Sad, very sad.

Irwin should know that already. Perhaps he’s just trying to troll for compliments.

can’t abide folks who refuse to consider people ahead of animals. saw a south park episode the other day that skewered PeTA good.
prasrinivara over 15 years ago
yyyguy, you mean “ REskewered”, right? The thugs at PETA can never understand that their own push of whalemeat skewered them irrecoverably.

as long as they get pointy things shoved at them…

@prasrinivara;
but aren’t whales animals too?
I do get the idea that PeTA is totally irrational.
