    And that’s why some stores have carts where you have to put a quarter in it.

    Some grocery stores have carts that will lock the wheels if you go beyond a boundary outside of the store. Grocery carts are expensive $75 to $150 each!

    Those 25-cent shopping carts are a real bargain! I get a new one every week. But my garage is filling up with them.

    When I was in college I had an on-campus apartment that was about 4 blocks from the nearest grocery store. I didn’t have a car, and walking that far with a large load of groceries was out of the question. What I’d do was leave my drivers liscense with the clerk at the store, take the grocery cart home with my groceries, and then, after I got the groceries up to my apartnment I’d take the cart back and get my DL. Of course, that was back before my arthritus and other leg problems started bothering me and I was doing a lot more walking.
