Calvin and Hobbes by Bill Watterson for November 29, 1986
Transcript:
Calvin: Look, Hobbes, you get a plastic trinket in boxes of "Chocolate-frosted sugar bombs"! Hobbes: It says, "Be the first in your neighborhood to collect all ten colors." Calvin: Yeah, but Mom says she won't buy any more cereal until this box is gone. Hobbes: That shouldn't take more than a couple hours right? Calvin: I dunno. After five bowls. I get pretty wired.
There is actually quite a famous math problem on this theme:https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Coupon_collector’s_problem
Calvin should expect to have to eat 30 boxes in order to collect all ten colours.
