    The real question is: If Calvin hadn’t stopped to heckle Hobbes, would he have been able to reach the end zone?

    .

    If he were lucky, he’d have been close enough that Hobbes’ collision would have pushed him over the line.

    +++++

    For those who doubt Hobbes’ life—what do they make of this episode? Calvin is tripping over his own feet? He is tackling himself?

    Calvin and Hobbes certainly toes the line between reality and imagination! Calvin’s projection of his more practical side onto his stuffed tiger, and the constant interaction between the two is almost enough to convince the staunchest realist of the subjective nature of reality!

    I wonder if Hobbes can outrun a speeding locomotive.
