Calvin and Hobbes by Bill Watterson for April 08, 1990
Transcript:
Calvin: Ace pilot spaceman Spiff cruises low over the planet at high speed! Calvin: I wonder what this "E" on the fuel gauge means. Calvin: Our hero sets off across the desolate terrain in search of help! In the distance, methane clouds rain sodium hydroxide, a caustic alkali! Calvin: Oh no! The downpour was too heavy for the ground to absorb! A steaming river of corrosive liquid rushes toward our hero! Calvin: The brave spaceman Spiff scrambles to higher ground, but the flood continues to rise! Calvin: Our hero is trapped! It's only a matter of time until the roaming, noxious wash cleans the meat from Spiff's bones! How could things ever get worse?! Calvin: Aughh! An alien comes to push him in! Mom: For heaven's sake, Cavlin! Just get in!
