Remember in gym class (quaintly called PE at the time for Physical Education), we used to run laps for a quarter hour. At the end, the coach would ask how many laps we did. Some kids that seemed slower than me often ran more than me…so I dogged them step for step and found out they were lying! Lost a little of my innocence that day.
The thing that makes it really easy is that you don’t have to use consecutive numbers, either….you could maybe get as high as twenny-leven, or something like that….
Why cant you all just enjoy the strip instead of analyzing it them all the time. I have followed this strip since it started (heck, i’ve even named my two cats after them) and it always makes me laugh.
This reminds me of a 3 Stooges short. Shemp had to take medicine for a cold. The instructions said: Skip An Hour. So Moe and Larry made poor Shemp skip rope an hour while they just laid around. :D

I have been a very good string jumper in my childhood and I loved to jump as long as possible, it’s long, long ago!!!

Isn’t that the kind of math that politicians employ.

Yes, you don’t have to jump quite as fast.

On most days, Calvin would rather skip school than skip rope!

When you’re 6’1’ in the 7th grade jumping rope is like hanging yourself in fast repetition. I quit.
