Calvin sounds like the people they interview on BBC Radio 4. When the interviewer comes out with some fact that goes against them, they reply, “I can’t accept that.”I hope they can accept gravity…because it’s there.
some people deny evolution, or concept of money. but, gravity is a theory. proven time and time again, and even on the moon. and, denial is not just a river in egypt.
Political and religious comments aside, but I defy gravity. Reality is selective. If you’re too ignorant to know something can’t work, it can. Just look at Spongebob. Swimming pool in the ocean? right. Now gravy on the other hand, works. I defy gravy, but the more I eat the harder it gets to defy.
There is no reward in the proper accomplishment of the homework task, and no reward or punishment in the classroom or grading system. I think schools need to have nonperforming and underachieving students hand digging a 20’ wide by 12’ deep moat around the school. It will help with hyperactivity and obesity, too.
Wow, so if a person recognizes the evolution theory as a theory then that person is an irrational denier? Really? And you got that from a Calvin and Hobbes cartoon? And you’re going to turn a perfectly good, refreshingly non-political cartoon into a bash on people you happen to disagree with? Come on, people. It’s a cartoon, for crying out loud!
But those who make a living through the burning of fossil fuels and deny global climate change are fixing to have themselves accused of denying for the sake of their job.
Of course we will always have to deal with those ill-informed and/or ignorant Democrats, as well as their conservative counterparts. But contrary to your claim, good Democrats (such as moi) are strong believers in the American dream, yet also believe that the government should open itself up to the needs of the poorer American population. And FYI, others will respect you more as a person if you spend less time deriding others for their political and moral views and concentrate on developing a clear and unbiased picture of how our country is according to both sides. Isn’t that how we grow as a nation?
I am incredibly offended by your statement to the effect that I, as a Creationist and a Christian, am an Irrational Being. As I have managed to occupy this webpage and am responding to you in proper English, I am clearly a Rational Being. I just happen to prefer to be told that I am not a freak accident of a nature that cannot exist, and yet does, of its own accord. May I present the Groucho Marx Effect: The moment we, as inhabitants of the universe, can fully comprehend the universe simply, it is clear that the universe is too simple to exist or support life capable of understanding it. This is actually a scientific postulate (not fact, not theory, just a postulate). As such, I have one thing to say: PLEASE KEEP YOUR RELIGIOUS OPINIONS TO YOUR SELF AND I WILL KEEP MINE TO MYSELF, IN A KIND AND TOLERANT MANNER.

I’ve seen a lot of Democrats that can’t seem to deal with the concept that the money they spend doesn’t spring from thin air. “Just print more.”
