The important thing is the feeling of being involved in something “special” and “exclusive.” My parents were very involved in different Masonic lodges. Dad even had a book written in code! I was forced to join one of their young people’s lodges, and found it a very dull way to spend alternate Saturdays. Very dull indeed.
