Little sister and I decided to run away from home we were 3 and 5 years old. Terrible conditions… we had to eat everything on our plates and had to go to bed way too early. Packed our little suitcases we got for Christmas and headed out the door late at night. Our plan had neglected the fact that it was dark and cold out there in the country and we didn’t know where we were going. Gave up and came back within a few minutes.
My Mom was like that, too; when I was at that age: “Who do you think you are? Wear safety glasses when using the chain saw! Put on a welding mask before using that arc welder!” She never understood kids…
I wouldn’t say Calvin’s got it made. Being six, he still has some limitations and responsibilities. But HOBBES probably has it made (I’ve often said how my dog’s always got it made.)
Mom could get Calvin a debit card and load it each month with his allowance money. He could make purchases till the money ran out and then the card would be declined till the next time it was loaded.

Choose your enemies wisely, young Calvin…and pick your fights. :D

An anagram of Calvin’s last comment is, “Honored homo finesses.”

First a lobby, then a PAC, Calvin?

Never make a request for credit cards when Mom or Dad are paying bills… bad timing.

Which one of you applied for this Cincinnati Bengals Master Card?

you can’t reason with them when they’re like that.

The lobby of two did not cut ice there. Credit cards in the name of six year olds can be fiery.

The “credit cards in our names” does that mean you want one, or you have one?

Okay, you won’t give us credit cards, then how about a flame thrower? Oh and a lifetime supply of tuna.

The ‘Calvin Won’ card. What’s in your wallet?
ron about 3 years ago
If they COULD get cards “in their own names” they’d be personally responsible for paying the bill. What a backfire that would cause.

later in life — young adult or adult — I don’t think Calvin still will be ready for a credit card
