During the toilet paper shortage, I read an article in which an analyst said that eventually, stores would have pallets full of toilet paper that nobody would be buying because they’d overbought and hoarded during the shortage.

Maybe he was right, because now my stores’ shelves are al bulging with supplies of toilet paper.

I’m picky about my toilet paper rolls at the house. Must be mega size rolls, double ply, no pilling left behind on the behind ; ) I did not hoard. Maybe had a few extra ice cream containers in the freezer in case of a cow shortage.

One day, when this damn pandemic is over, kids will be asking, “Grandma, why do you have so much toilet paper?” Seriously, I feel calmer now than I did in March. As we move closer and closer toward vaccines and treatments for the pandemic. I am very optimistic that by this time next year, this virus will be history. Or, at least with effective treatments and vaccines meaning only the absolute worst cases result in hospitalization and/or death, will be an annoying but tolerable affliction (like the flu currently is for most Americans). And we can go back to social interactions.

The only thing that has made me feel ""in control" is watching Gov. Cuomo’s briefings. I’m a Californian and I’ve come to respect what Gov. Cuomo did day-after-day during the worst of the pandemic in New York. He repeated truths, he blasted lies, he demonstrated and responded to the facts as they came in. He said “Blame me. If you don’t won’t to wear a mask, Blame me.” Some did blame him but enough responded to his clear, consistent messages that New York is now the national “poster child” for how to handle the pandemic.

Well, at least you now have plenty of toilet paper to throw on trees at Halloween.

For the time being, I’ve stocked up on both T.P. and paper towels. A nice feeling.
