Cathy: Ninety-eight percent of all women bring writing supplies and address books on our vacations so we can write letters and postcards while we're gone. Zero percent of the men do. Men see a vacation as a chance to do nothing. Women see a vacation as a chance to do eleven months of correspondence. Even worse, the only people women are planning to write to for the most part are other women! We're perpetuating a 300 year long chain letter of guilt. I say let's free ourselves, women! If we all quit writing letters and cards we could all quit thinking we have to write letters and cards! We could be free! Free! Now I've offended everyone. Now I owe them all nice notes of apology.
