Mom: I always told my daughter she could do anything. She could go anywhere! Be anyone she wanted to be! She could reach for the stars! As high as her dreams could take her! I helped her feel confident, competent and independent......And when it was time, I let her go, knowing deep in my heart what all mothers know: I gave her wings. Which I attached to a little remote control flapping regulator. Cathy: MOM!! Dad: She's back, dear.

Oh that it were true….this is how it was with my mom and me, and with me and my daughter. But, it’s been my experience that american parents cannot wait for the kids to leave home, and never return.
