Cathy: I love you, mom! I don't know why I get so defensive and crazy around you. Mom: I know, sweetie. I clipped some newspaper stories on the subject! Here are some magazine articles! Pamphlets from the drugstore! Strategies for stress reduction! Coping skills support groups! Nutrients for mood improvement! And a purse full of cartoons that remind me of us! Cathy: MOM!! Mom: See? You're already speaking in a much quieter voice!

We share all those clippings, stories, past-experiences because we want to try & help them avoid having to go through so many of the same things we went through. Or, in many instances, help them know that what they’re going through is “normal” - give them another perspective - “help them help themselves”. Hey, what else is a Jewish Mother for????
