It’s not the food as much as the 3 magazines, 2 books, newspaper and a sweatshirt. Maybe she could have read one book, but the rest of it is just unrealistic expectations like everything else in her life.-—————The airlines do serve food, but not as much on shorter flights. We just went to Europe and was served 2 meals and a snack which was reasonable considering we were only on the plane for 9 hours. We also had our own video screens which kept us all entertained the entire time without pulling out our books. Not bad for coach.
No, she wouldn’t — this strip originally came out about a year before 9/11, so the new HSA requirements weren’t in force (or even in existence) at that time. Now, if she were taking this trip in 2011, we’d be talking some MAJOR humiliation in store for her! :D
If she had brought all that stuff from home, it would have cost her a lot less than what she just paid for it in the airport gift shop. Meanwhile, has anybody noticed how much the airline lady in the last panel looks like Charlene? Maybe it’s her twin sister!
