Cathy/Charlene: Halloween chocolate! Save me!! Mr. Pinkley: I've had chocolate out on my desk all year. Charlene: That's "desk" chocolate. Different category. Charlene: There's also "romantic" chocolate..."birthday" chocolate..."get well" chocolate..."holiday" chocolate..."hotel" chocolate..."vending machine" chocolate... Each category has its own complex lure and requires its own defense strategy! We did not come armed for the Halloween chocolate category today! Mr. Pinkley: Chocolate isn't chocolate? Cathy: They live such quiet little lives...

Not sure what to say other than eyeroll. There are different types of chocolate, but it’s usually milk chocolate, dark chocolate and good dark chocolate (my favorite!).Scuse me… must go get some of that dark chocolate. :-)Good morning, Cathy clan!GretchensMom – Because it’s her brain and so hard to monitor (unlike watching someone walk or write), it’s difficult to say. The speech therapist might have a good idea, but she was focusing on her chewing and swallowing so that my mom could eat better food and drink (she was on thickened liquid and pureed food, which she hated and wasn’t eating or drinking much, which was obviously causing other issues). I think she is also working on her speech, but I’m not sure how to work on memory, reasoning or cognitive thinking. I think the next time I go, I may bring some old pictures to see if that gets her thinking. I played some of her favorite music for her, which got her moving, but she couldn’t remember which albums were her favorite. Thank you for caring so much and for being such a good friend! ((hugs!!!!))

Personal for lightenup, nothing to do with the strip!~So sorry to hear about your Mom. I know this is a very difficult time for you, and your girls. You have done and said exactly the right things for them. I know worrying about how they are coping is an additional, overwhelming situation. ~I have read your comments over several years now, and I know you are a very caring person, (as is GretchensMom),and I just wanted you to know you have one more person out “here” praying for you and your family. ~Take time for yourself, and take care of yourself.

There is so much chocolate vibes in the air around Halloween. Easter is like that too. I swear I gain a few pounds just smelling the chocolate laden air.

Huh! I knew there were different kinds of chocolate . . . but different categories of it? It never ceases to amaze me whenever Cathy can teach me something new I’ve never ever heard of before!!!!!

AACK—yet another [eye-roll]. We really have to find a way to buy those things in bulk.
@lightenupPlease know that you and your mom are in my thoughts. I wish her a full recovery, and I hope things go as smoothly as possible.
HI, MOM. Greetings, Clan.

The thing about Holiday candy in general is that some of it is ever so slightly stale because they make it in advance so they’ll have enough. That’s why those tiny peanut butter cups taste bad.
