Cathy: I know you want to play, Electra, but I've been running all week. Electra: Arf! Cathy: Doing my job...doing my workouts...cleaning my house...buying my food...paying my bills...answering my calls...organizing my stuff...reading my papers...washing my clothes...planning my future... Now I need some time just for me! Electra: What were the last 9,500 hours???
I have absolutely ZERO tolerance for crappy excuses like that. If Cathy didn’t have room or time in her life for a dog, then she shouldn’t have gotten one. Dogs are companion animals who love being with their people — which is why so many of them have separation anxiety problems when they can’t be. And, as everyone who’s ever had a dog [or any kind of pet] knows, they’re also just like babies: they can’t talk or take care of themselves so they depend on us to do everything for them that needs to be done. Electra doesn’t give a rat’s patootie about Cathy’s job, workouts, bills, errands, laundry, house cleaning, etc. All she cares about is that she hasn’t seen her “mom” all day, that she really needs to go potty, is hungry and just in general wants some attention after being left home all alone yet again today. If that’s too much to ask for, then please, Cathy, do Electra a HUGE favor and find her another home where someone there DOES have love and time to devote to her. If you can’t or just don’t want to take care of her, then that would be the kindest thing in the whole world that you can do for her.
Hi, rgcviper!
BlackFrostWarrior: I don’t know who wrote that either, but it’s #4 on the “10 Canine Commandments” that I have bookmarked on my computer and that every dog guardian should know, understand and remember before bringing a dog into their home, heart, and lives:
The 10 Commandments [from a dog’s perspective]
Hello and Happy Saturday, fellow “Cathy” fans. Hope everyone had a really nice day today.
