Mom: Fat was bad. Pasta was good. Then pasta was bad. Fat was good. Meat was bad. Veggies were good. Then veggies were bad. meat was good. Nuts go back and forth and back and forth and back and forth... only MOTHER has given you consistent, sensible eating advice. Cathy: "Clean your plate or there will be no dessert, young lady!!" Mom: Not that one! The other one!! Dad: "Have more potatoes! We can't let good food go to waste!"
I don’t think veggies have ever been bad – the advice on that only changes insofar as how many portions a day it should be.
But not potatoes. Save them to make potato salad if you must but otherwise better turned into compost than into waist.
