Cathy: Since the time I was little, my Dad fixed everything for me. My broken toys... my injured dolls... my tricycle...my bike...my car...he fixed my roof, my refrigerator, my garbage disposal, my door knobs, my bathroom sink, my closet shelves...Dad fixed my hurt feelings, my broken heart, my worries. No matter what, I called Dad to fix it. But now we're getting married, Irving. I won't need to call my Dad to fix everything. Now I have you! Irving: Now I can call your Dad, too. Cathy: Exactly! We'll get twice as much done! Mom: You're not losing a daughter, you're gaining a "to do" list.

Thanks for the welcome back, lightenup. Last week, I was volunteering at a kids’ camp like I do every summer. Always the best week of my year.

My father used to fix everything for me too, even when I moved away from home and he had to travel long distances to get to where I was living. Now’s he gone, but I still thank him every day for what he did for me!

This is my 14th Father’s Day without my dad. Love and miss him more than words can possibly say! Hope he’s having a great day up in Heaven today.
Meanwhile . . . for all the birth fathers, adoptive fathers, step-fathers, foster fathers, grandfathers and all those other caring men who mentor children and step in as father figures for those with absent dads who wouldn’t otherwise have a positive male role model in their lives without you (not to mention all the women out there who serve as both mom AND dad to their kids) . . .
