Mr Pinkley: Welcome to the start of autumn and the end of "summer business casual"! From now on, there will be NO tops that make it obvious you aren't wearing underwear. NO tops that make it obvious you are wearing underwear. NO clothes that could be mistaken for ranch wear, swimwear or sleepwear. No top cleavage, tummy cleavage, rear cleavage or toe cleavage. Sion: Whoa! What's the geezer in the retro suit?? Women: Let me see! Belly stripes?? Hoo, ha!!! And socks??? Gym wear. Office weaer. Errand wear. Evening wear. Nothing unzipped. Unbuttoned. Untucked. Unhemmed that could draw attention to you and your clothes instead of the job at hand!

A lot of offices have in fact gone back to formal office attire since this strip was first run. Makes me gladder than ever to work from home – I don’t even think I own a pair of dress pants!

There’s few things in life more pathetic than watching a bunch of people in their 40’s, 50’s, etc., trying to somehow “recapture” their youths by dressing in clothes that are completely inappropriate ….. even for someone half their age. And wearing them to work in an office setting like this, no less! Unless you’re a Victoria’s Secret model, who in their right mind wears a nightgown (or something that looks like one anyhow) to work, for heaven’s sake? If I were Mr. Pinkley, I would tell this entire group: “For the love of all that’s holy, people ….. please have some dignity and respect for yourselves (and the people around you) by dressing appropriately for your age!” Yikes. Or, as Cathy would say: Aack!!!

lightenup: I know I’m a little late as you’ve already left for Banff but I know you’ll see this when you get back. Your trip sounds like a lot of fun and I hope you and your family had a really great time! :-)
Hi, rgcviper! :-) The move is going fairly well, thank you. We’ve gone about as far as we can go on our space without it stretching into many more months worth of work to do yet, but what’s left from here on out can wait until after we move my mother. Plans for her space have been drawn up and given to a G.C. (General Contractor) specializing in the kind of home renovation we’re looking to do and we’re waiting on his estimated price to come in sometime this week. I’ll keep everyone updated on that project as it progresses.
