Dad: Do you think Cathy will use any of your financial advice? Mom: Heavens, no! Dad: Try any of your suggestions? Mom: No! Dad: Follow any of your tips? Mom: No. But one day, she'll be about to waste her hard-earned money on something, and she'll hear my voice in her mind... and right there, in the middle of the mall, she'll stop what she's doing... and start shrieking! GET OUT OF MY BRAIN, MOM! YOU'RE RUINING THIS FOR ME!!! Dad: All this for that?? Mom: I'm a mother. I'll do whatever it takes to have her keep calling my name.
I have experienced those reservations. Some things I do, or don’t do, with the firm thought that I will have to tell Mom about it. Worse, someone else may tell Mom about it.
