Cathy (from phone): WAY worse! Mom: Worse than slipping them table scraps?? Cathy (from phone): YOU just overfeed them! THEY dress them! Fix their hair! Push them in strollers! And rent dog movies for them! Another set of doting parents, tormented by the classic: Mom: WE COULD HAVE DONE SO MUCH MORE!!
This is why I always thought it was a missed opportunity to end the strip with the announcement of Cathy’s pregnancy. Seeing Cathy go off the deep end with pregnancy hormones and giving birth and THEN watching the Grandparent Wars that would have followed would have been hilarious!
