I see some possible exciting plot turns coming up here. Now Pierre has his permanent card—he and Donna don’t need to be married any more… now he is falling in love with her and may want to stay married, but she is involved with someone else and depending where that goes, she may want a divorce….

In something like 32 states they are not legally married. They did not consummate the union.
