    ‘Sittin’ on the Dock of the Bay’ was Otis Redding’s biggest hit when it topped the Billboard Hot 100 chart for four weeks in 1968. Sadly, he died in a plane crash just three days before it was released giving it the dubious distinction of being the first ever posthumous #1 single in the U.S..
