Hi,
It’s been a sad day for me and my family as Mother finally passed away at 3:30am South Australian time.
As mentioned in a previous posting she had fallen down and broken her hip, Which was repaired without any problems.
However at the hospital the doctor wanted her to get up and start physical therapy just 3 days later, But Mother was simply too weak and still in pain. That lead to her being bedridden and being given strong painkillers and sedatives, Not long after she developed fluid in the lungs which ultimately caused her demise.
However as she drifted in and out of consciousness she still recognized everybody and the entire family had sufficient time to visit her and say goodbye.
Mother had a strong desire to die and be released from her suffering and the family agreed with her that she had nothing left to live for.
The fact she has been granted her final wish has made this sad death easier for everyone to bear.
