As a parent to a soccer player, and a husband to a soccer player – who made it a point to be supportive and go to games … I remember being cold and alone standing under a little umbrella cheering on women having a raucous time skidding around on muddy fields. I even got an award one year!

I refereed soccer for 20+ years. The games the kids enjoyed the most were where there was lots of mud involved.

Used to love playing club ball in the summer rain/mud, way better than HS when it was a winter sport in the ice and snow
