Abby: I can't believe women weren't allowed to compete in the first modern olympic games. Edith: it says here there was a greek woman, Stamata Revithi, who ran the marathon the day after the actual event. She ran the last lap around the stadium because officials wouldn't let her enter it to finish. They labeled her "Melpomene," after the greek muse of tragedy. Abby: Remember Stamata Revithi! Edith: Remember "Melpomene"!
This arc has been teaching us a lot about Greek history and culture. Much more accurate and resourceful than Disney’s depiction of Greek myths and culture, which borders on parody.
