I heard this story of progression from a missionary to Africa: First year, found ants in sugar bowl.. Dumped out sugar. Second year: sifted out ants and used sugar. Third year: ate sugar, ants and all.
Used to have that problem when I lived in CA: ants would get into my cereal boxes—even the unopened ones! They would chew their way through the celophane inner bag and infest the cereal. I had to keep my cereal in the freezer.
