Did you ever notice that usually when they make monsters out of ants or grasshoppers, or anything like that, they make them gigantic, but usually bees are just left to be little and stingy.

Occasionally, I drive out to the end of a country road and have lunch in my car. I can hear the sound of thousands of bees from the hundred portable hives left in the pasture through the Spring. It can be fascinating watching the comings and goings of a massive, organized nectar-gathering operation. As I rule, I can go about an hour without attacting any notice. However, once one bee takes offense, it is time to go.
